Rystrom was appointed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to the five-member PERB board in August 2007. She became chair in February 2009. The boardx enforces collective bargaining laws that cove more than 2 millionCaliforni public-sector employees. It also rules on challenges to decisions issuedby PERB’s general counse and administrative law judges. “Tiffany Rystrom capped a distinguished career by channeling her passioh for the law intopublic service,” Schwarzenegger said in a statemen following her death. “Sh e raised the bar on integrity and consistency withthe law.” Rystromj entered the legal field aftef six years in advertising and marketing.
She startefd in 1977 as judicial clerk in the California Cour tof Appeal. Marlborough, Mass.-based Evergreen Solar (Nasdaq: ESLR) will provide the solaer panelsand Madison, Wis.-based RMT will be the procurement and construction contractor on soladr projects that could generate between 10 megawatts and 800 megawattsd of electricity. Together, the companies have submitted bids to installo up to 400 megawatts ofenerggy capacity. If the firms win theswe contracts, the projects would be builgt over the nextfive years. “Our relationshil with RMT provides Evergreen Solar with increased accesz tothe utility-scale solart power project market,” said Terry Evergreen Solar’s senior vice president of sales and in a statement.
